Setting as in arrangement, as in a specific context, as an amalgam of things. Objects are plucked from the world and situationalized on alternate planes. This happens like a kairological event; suddenly a chronological, rather stable element is seized and activated. A thing bursts out of the continuum, now folded into new relational orders. Continuity yields to adjacency, and meaning is produced through placement. As such, processes of selection and reorganization form a point of connection among the artists present here.

When figures of Romanticism tripped over roots and table legs, they stumbled upon a world in flux. Moving from bohemian to faux-hemian, as influence shifted from aristocratic refinement to capital and social navigation. Over time, efficiency and time management replaced the savoir-vivre, and today, information asymmetries and attention economies generate from the savoir per se a pharmacological substance that both stimulates and numbs. From trippy to tragic: surfaces can never be fully smoothed.
Panorama brings together five artists whose works can be read as parts of a process of transformation. Through their biographical, (art) historical, or social patination, they unfold as tableaux that shift between narrative construction and situational mise-en-scène.

Damien & The Love Guru is a Brussels and Zurich based curatorial field of experimentation in contemporary art with an anthropological twist.
The gallery stages compelling and non-conventional exhibitions by emerging artists, and activates immersions in and critical approaches to the cross-disciplinary fields of visual art via independent projects and collaborations. At Damien & The Love Guru we channel the emphasis of an art project as a way to create an inclusive and tangible environment.
