Corey Bartle-Sanderson
A solo show by Corey Bartle-Sanderson
Opening 4th September, 19:00
Led and curated by Raphaëlle Serres for a§s project
Coordinated by Eléonore Bonello
With Une maison est une machine-à-habiter, Corey Bartle-Sanderson explores the uses of the box as a structure, to extend them to the functionalities of the home, displacing all considerations relating to furnishings, uses and waste: he comes from London for the occasion, settles in at spasss, he nests. A time to rest and reflect on what makes a home, in the warmth of incubation, surrounded by his own collection of materials. Corey Bartle-Sanderson, was born in 1992 in West Kirby, Merseyside. He lives and works in London, exploring both sculptural and photographic practices. Corey completed his BA (Hons) Fine Art at Kingston University in 2014. In 2015 he had his first solo show HOMEWARE_update at Block 336 in Brixton, London. He also runs the It’s Kind of Hard to Explain (IKO) project, a collective of artists and curators since 2017; and Piccalilli, an artist-led gallery and initiative supporting emergent artists at the start of their careers.
