As part of its 2025 EET CLUB program, Gilbard presents “Assemblée des bancs” and “De l’arbre au gâteau”, two participatory workshops exploring collective making, sharing resources, and rethinking how we gather and interact with our local ecosystems.
EET CLUB is Gilbard’s year-long curatorial project where food, making, and community intertwine. Acting as a shared living room, workshop, and platform for artistic and design experimentation, EET CLUB turns Gilbard into a place where practices are lived at a 1:1 scale. Through workshops, exhibitions, and seasonal activations, the project fosters sensitive and contextual approaches, engaging directly with Anderlecht’s local environment, resources, and people.
“Assemblée des bancs” (August 25–29) is a collaborative workshop based on the benches designed by Petticoat Government for the Belgian Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale. Artists, designers, and architects are invited to cross their practices to imagine a shared structure for welcoming, gathering, and sharing.
“De l’arbre au gâteau” (early September) is a project by Claire Chassot and Jonathan De Maeyer (Seasonal Neighbours), focusing on the social bonds created around fruit trees and hedgerows. Using reclaimed materials, participants will build ladders and stools to harvest apples from the neighborhood, culminating in a collective baking session open to local residents.
Gilbard.e.s is a collective and artist-run space based in Anderlecht, Brussels, since 2019. Through hands-on workshops, exhibitions, and in-situ projects, Gilbard investigates the intersections of artistic practices, sustainability, and local dynamics, with a strong focus on shared resources and collective experimentation.
