Ool is Coo stems from Francesca Hawker’s research on eels, their distinct and mysterious narratives. Over one weekend at celador, Hawker presents a selection of poems and dog beds made up of writing and drawing around eels. In dialogue with/response to this body of work, James Webster presents two ceramic sculptures. The artists have also composed a reader related to the research. The opening takes place on Thursday, September 4. On Sunday, September 7, a reading group is convened between 3 and 5 pm, and a performance by Hawker happens at 6 pm.

Biographies: Francesca Hawker (UK, 1992) is an artist living in Brussels. She works with performance, poetry, sound and text, each of these components flowing playfully into the other.
James Webster (UK, 1978) is a sculptor who received classical training in sculpture in Florence, Italy. Fuelled by a deep passion for anatomy, his practice touches on the subjects of eroticism, and the bestiary.
